Job summary

First American is hiring appraisers nationwide to support its valuation services. Remote work allows you to assess properties, analyze data, and prepare value estimates in line with guidelines. A state license or certification is required, with potential for a draw against a percentage fee split.

You will document on-site assessments, generate quotes, and present findings to clients while collaborating with a Lead Appraiser to improve processes. Bachelor's degree is required.

Qualifications

• 0-1 years related mortgage/appraisal experience.
• REO appraisals experience preferred.
• HUD/FHA experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Ability to meet varying client-driven deadlines.
• Excellent analytical and narrative writing skills.
• Detail oriented and self-motivated.
• Must work in a fast-paced, accurate environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication; clear messages.
• Good organizational skills; multi-task and prioritize.
• Active Appraiser license or state certification.

Responsibilities

• Conducts unbiased appraisal of market areas, statistics and other information to develop property value estimates.
• Documents on-site assessments with photographs, measurements, and comparable sales data.
• Draws land diagrams and visual documentation.
• Considers factors influencing value including land, neighborhoods, trends and features.
• Generates fee quotes for clients.
• Presents evaluations and property value estimates to buyers, sellers, investors, creditors, and agents.
• Partners with Lead Appraiser to resolve requests and improve processes.
• Participates in monthly Appraiser meetings.
• Meets department turn-time expectations and escalates if timelines cannot be met.
