Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a Release Train Engineer to lead agile delivery in a remote, consulting capacity. You will optimize program flow, manage dependencies, and partner with Product and Technical Leads to turn strategy into executable epics.

You will guide Kanban/Lean practices, coach leaders and teams, and ensure AI readiness is embedded in delivery. This role requires East Coast hours and aligns with a W2 consulting arrangement.

Qualifications

• Proven RTE or senior multi-team Agile leadership with measurable improvements.
• Expertise in Kanban, Scrumban, and Lean flow with WIP limits.
• Strong coaching and facilitation skills; ability to challenge unrealistic commitments.
• Adaptive approach to scale down large frameworks for small teams.
• Working knowledge of AI delivery across data, model evaluation, human review, integration, and monitoring.
• Cross-functional leadership across business, product, technology, vendors, and risk.
• Nice to have: experience in financial services, multi-vendor coordination, SAFe RTE or related certifications.

Responsibilities

• Run the system of work by establishing and improving the program Kanban, WIP limits, and clear readiness and done criteria.
• Translate intent into executable work by partnering with product and business leaders to break outcomes into small, testable epics.
• Clear the path by surfacing and resolving risks, dependencies, and blockers across data access, integrations, and review queues.
• Embed AI readiness into delivery by planning evaluation, human review, monitoring, and support as first-class work.
• Facilitate decisions through planning, syncs, demos, and retrospectives focused on evidence, forecasts, and trade-offs.
• Grow team autonomy by coaching leaders and teams to make sound local decisions that reduce reliance on central coordination.
