Job summary

Onward is seeking a Regulatory Compliance Manager to own day-to-day compliance across multiple markets for its technology-enabled transportation network. This hands-on individual contributor works with Operations, Legal, Recruiting, Product and Sales to translate regulatory requirements into scalable processes and audit-ready documentation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in regulatory compliance or related fields.
• Hands-on compliance execution and program management.
• Experience across multiple states or jurisdictions preferred.
• Ability to translate regulations into clear, repeatable processes.
• Highly organized with audit-ready documentation.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead regulatory readiness for new-market launches from research to implementation.
• Identify regulatory requirements and translate them into operational processes, owners, controls and timelines.
• Coordinate applications, approvals, registrations, permits, and other launch requirements with cross-functional teams.
• Maintain launch-readiness plans and drive multiple compliance workstreams and deadlines.
• Identify risks and escalate high-risk or legally sensitive matters as appropriate.
• Ensure required compliance documentation and permits are complete before go-live.
• Manage ongoing driver and vehicle compliance across active markets, including licensing and background checks.
• Improve systems, trackers, alerts, and workflows to create scalable, repeatable processes.
• Coordinate audits and regulatory filings, renewals, and reporting.
• Develop and implement new compliance processes as Onward expands to new markets.
