Job summary

VGW is seeking a Regional Lead for its Government & Industry Affairs team in the United States. The role translates the company’s lobbying strategy into state-specific campaigns, managing external contract lobbyists, and delivering field intelligence to central leadership.

This position is suited to a seasoned state-level government affairs professional who can operate with autonomy, navigate diverse state political environments, and work remotely from anywhere in the US.

Qualifications

• 7-12+ years in state government, lobbying, or campaigns with exposure to multiple legislatures/regulators.
• Experience managing external vendors/contract lobbyists against defined deliverables.
• Working knowledge of gaming regulation, sweepstakes, consumer protection, or related policy areas.
• Strong political credibility and established relationships with state officials in the region.
• Experience in multi-state lobbying in fast-moving tech/gaming sectors.
• Proficiency with legislative tracking tools.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary accountability manager for external lobbyists within the regional portfolio, set expectations, review deliverables, and provide performance assessments.
• Translate VGW’s policy positions into state-specific advocacy messaging tailored to local dynamics.
• Develop and maintain relationships with state legislators, committee staff, attorneys general offices, and regulators.
• Participate in cross-regional strategy sessions to ensure messaging consistency and coordinate multi-state campaigns.
• Represent VGW at hearings, fundraisers, conferences, and stakeholder engagements.
• Monitor and track active legislation across assigned states affecting social gaming, sweepstakes, consumer protection, age verification, and advertising.
