VGW is seeking a Regional Lead for the Government & Industry Affairs team in the United States. The role translates VGW’s lobbying strategy into state-specific campaigns, managing external contract lobbyists and building relationships with state officials.

Reporting to the VP of Government Relations, you will operate autonomously within a defined strategy, travel domestically, and work remotely. The successful candidate will have extensive state lobbying experience and strong vendor management

Qualifikationen

• 7–12+ years of state government, lobbying, or political campaign experience, with exposure to multiple state legislatures or regulatory agencies.
• Experience managing external vendors, consultants, or contract lobbyists against defined deliverables and performance standards.
• Working knowledge of gaming regulation, sweepstakes law, consumer protection, or related policy areas or ability to learn quickly.

Aufgaben

• Serve as the primary accountability manager for all external lobbyists within the assigned regional portfolio: set performance expectations, respond to queries, review deliverables, conduct weekly check-ins, and provide written performance assessments.
• Translate VGW’s policy positions into state-specific advocacy messaging tailored to local dynamics.
• Develop and maintain relationships with state legislators, committee staff, attorneys general offices, and regulators.
• Participate in cross-regional strategy sessions to ensure messaging consistency and coordinate multi-state campaigns.
• Represent the company at hearings, fundraisers, conferences, and stakeholder engagements.
• Monitor and track all active legislation across assigned states affecting social gaming, sweepstakes operations, consumer protection, age verification, and advertising.
