Job summary

Nelnet is seeking candidates for a collection-focused role in Lincoln, NE area. The position involves contacting borrowers by phone, mail, and email to arrange payment plans and address delinquencies. Pay starts at $15.75/hour with potential commission up to $1,250 per month; schedule is Monday–Friday, 11:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. CST.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent required.
• 2 years customer service, collection and general work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Contact borrowers via telephone, mail, and email to establish payment arrangements.
• Negotiate borrower payment plans and resolve past due accounts.
• Perform skip-tracing to locate borrowers and update account information.
• Contribute to process improvements and comply with policy requirements.
• Perform related collection activities and prepare reports as needed.
