Job summary

Nelnet is seeking a dedicated collections associate in the Lincoln, NE area. The role requires a high school diploma and about 2 years of customer service or collection experience. You will contact borrowers to arrange payment plans, locate accounts, and explain options while updating records for accuracy.

The position features a schedule Monday–Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. CST with pay at $15.75/hour and potential monthly commission up to $1,250, plus a robust benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Contact borrowers via telephone, mail, and email to establish payment arrangements.
• Rectify outstanding delinquencies on accounts.
• Determine plans of action to resolve past due accounts.
• Perform skip-tracing to locate borrowers.
• Update borrower accounts in servicing system.
• Educate borrowers on account history and seriousness of delinquencies.
• Contribute to continuous process improvement.
• Assist with collections documents and reports.
