Job summary

Mercury Insurance Company is seeking a Property Claims Field Adjuster II in Texas to investigate and settle moderate homeowners claims. After training, you will travel to loss sites for on-site inspections, document damages, and write estimates, collaborating with vendors as needed and using virtual tools when appropriate.

You’ll manage case progress, communicate clearly with insureds, and escalate complex claims.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Ability to obtain state property claims licensing as required.
• Complete property claims training program (in person, virtual, or both).
• Experience using estimating software like Xactimate.
• Property claims experience or related field experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication; bilingual or military background is a plus.
• 3-5+ years of industry experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Customer service oriented with strong decision-making and adaptability.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve homeowners claims of moderate complexity in a timely and efficient manner.
• Perform field inspections at least 50% of the time; travel to homes with company car to inspect and estimate damages.
• Handle virtual claims using imagery and video technology with onsite vendors and insureds.
• Compare investigations to policy coverage; extend or deny coverage as appropriate.
• Establish reserves within authority and negotiate settlements; escalate beyond limits to supervisor.
• Communicate promptly with insureds and representatives to resolve issues and ensure satisfaction.
• Prioritize workload and monitor progress and expenses to resolve claims.
• Direct and review work of independent adjusters when needed.
• Other duties may be assigned.
