Job summary

Mercury Insurance is seeking a Property Claims Field Adjuster to investigate, evaluate, and settle homeowners claims with focus on service and timely resolution. The role requires fieldwork, on-site inspections, and occasional virtual claims handling, with training provided to transition into the field adjusting position.

Ideal candidates will have 1–3 years of related experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to obtain licensing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Ability to obtain state specific property claims licensing.
• Formal property claims training may be in person or virtual.
• Experience using estimating software like Xactimate.
• Experience in property claims, customer service, construction, restoration, or mitigation.
• Bilingual ability and/or military experience is a plus.
• 1-3 years of related industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve homeowners claims of minor to moderate complexity.
• Perform field inspections up to 50% of work time; company car provided.
• Handle virtual claims using imagery and video technology.
• Determine coverage by comparing facts to policy; extend or deny as appropriate.
• Establish reserves and negotiate settlements within authority.
• Communicate with insureds and representatives to ensure satisfaction.
• Manage workload and coordinate with independent adjusters when needed.
