Job summary

Mercury Insurance Property Claims team seeks a Field Adjuster II to inspect, evaluate, and settle homeowners claims with a focus on customer service. After training, you will travel to loss sites and handle some virtual claims, collaborating with vendors to restore homes.

You will apply company policies and regulatory standards to investigate, estimate damages, and settle claims efficiently while delivering exceptional service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to obtain state property claims licensing as required.
• Must complete formal property claims training (in person/virtual/ hybrid).

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve Homeowners claims of moderate complexity promptly. Document with photos and notes, and write repair estimates.
• Perform field inspections at least 50% of time; travel to homes to inspect and determine coverage.
• Handle virtual claims using imagery and video to write damage estimates with vendors.
• Determine coverage by comparing facts to policy; extend or deny as appropriate.
• Establish reserve amounts within authority and negotiate settlements; escalate above authority as needed.
• Communicate timely with insureds and representatives to ensure satisfaction and regulatory compliance.
• Manage workload and monitor progress; may review files handled by independent adjusters.
• Other duties may be assigned.
