Job summary

bioMérieux is seeking a Field Systems Engineer to service customers across California and nationally, deploying, maintaining and repairing complex electro‑mechanical systems. The role requires independent work, overnight travel on short notice, and a strong commitment to a best‑in‑class customer experience.

You will build relationships, identify service opportunities, and collaborate with sales, applications, and support teams while adhering to quality procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or 6+ years related experience in engineering/electronics
• Experience troubleshooting complex electro‑mechanical/electronic systems
• Must have valid driver's license

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer needs and perform installations, maintenance, upgrades, and repairs of instruments
• Build trust with customers and promote service agreements
• Drive field service revenue through preventive maintenance and equipment moves
• Attend product training at specified locations within the first year
• Travel for customer visits including overnight stays and national travel
• Participate in weekend/holiday on‑call rotation
• Maintain accurate service work orders, QA checklists, and training requirements
• Submit travel expense reports and manage calendar for availability
• Follow company policies for fleet and inventory management
• Collaborate with sales, marketing and customer service to enhance customer experience
• Represent bioMérieux professionally and support trade shows
