Job summary

Farmers Group Inc. in Cape Girardeau, MO is seeking a Field Property Claims Adjuster to investigate and settle property claims both virtually and on-site at policyholder homes. You will assess damages, determine liability, and negotiate fair settlements while using claims software, a company car, and a laptop in a paperless environment.

Requirements include a high school diploma, strong customer service, excellent communication, and the ability to travel.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent.
Excellent customer service experience, preferably in a retail environment.
Construction or Insurance experience is highly desirable and preferred.
Excellent communication skills – both oral and written.
Computer literate: MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
Proficiency with smartphones and applications.

Responsibilities

Conduct virtual and on-site investigations by visiting policyholders’ residences to assess property damage and negotiate settlements.
Use claims handling software, a company car, and a laptop in a paperless environment.
Evaluate and report on subrogation opportunities and potential fraud indicators.
Travel to policyholder homes as part of field investigations and inspections.
Engage with policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, contractors, and investigators to manage claims.
