Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent customer service experience, preferably in a retail environment.
• Construction or Insurance experience is highly desirable and preferred.
• Excellent communication skills – both oral and written.
• Computer literate: MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Proficiency with smartphones and applications.
• Eagerness to learn about insurance policies and property damage.
• Outgoing personality that would enjoy interacting with a wide variety of people.
• Valid driver’s license and Bondable; background check may be required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct virtual and on-site investigations by visiting policyholders’ residences to assess property damage, determine liability, evaluate loss extent, and negotiate fair settlements.
• Use claims handling software, a company car, and a laptop to determine claims-related damage and write estimates.
• Evaluate and report on potential subrogation opportunities.
• Report incidents involving theft, fraud, or arson to appropriate authorities.
• Interact with policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, and others; maintain a professional demeanor.
• Negotiate with policyholders to settle claims using strong customer service skills.
• Travel as needed to field locations and perform duties in various environments.
