Job summary

Ericsson Inc. seeks a Data Center Optical Engineer to lead installation, maintenance, and operation of optical transport in customer data centers.

You will be the interface between customers and Ericsson’s vendors, ensuring high quality across installations, migrations, remediation, and remote hands services. The role requires hands-on fibre experience, ability to travel up to 50% to non-home market sites, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• 3–15 years of experience in data center operations with direct customer interaction.
• Strong hands-on experience with fiber optic cabling (single-mode/multi-mode).
• Experience with optical testing and transport troubleshooting.
• Ability to travel up to 50% and work at non-home market sites.
• Strong English communication and customer-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily audits of work at customer data centers and provide feedback to technicians.
• Interact with customers via tickets or face-to-face, delivering clear reports.
• Assist with fiber installation, decommissioning, break/fix, remediation and migrations.
• Conduct and supervise optical testing using meters, light sources, VFLs, OTDRs.
• Deliver services by following MoPs, engineering docs, vendor docs, and network diagrams.
• Read cut sheets and design docs to ensure correct port connections and cable management.
