Job summary

Zurich North America is seeking a RCIS Crop Claims Field Adjuster I or Crop Claims Specialist to support agricultural clients in Illinois. The role is based from a home office with approximately 50% travel across the territory and requires living within 50 miles of specified Illinois counties.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong organization and prioritization skills.
• Experience as a Crop Claims Field Adjuster.

Responsibilities

• With minimal supervision, completes field inspections and related responsibilities such as reading maps and aerial photos, measuring fields, storage bins, and discussing findings of crop loss with farmers on complex claims.
• Conveys regulatory interpretations to claimants, agents, and industry personnel.
• Performs fact finding regarding crop damage and transmits loss information to determine potential indemnities.
• Gathers relevant facts, applies applicable law, and establishes basic negligence principles.
• Completes claim reviews and audits on lower-level adjusters as assigned.
• Maintains regulatory and company policy knowledge to ensure legal compliance.
• Contributes to team efforts and participates in projects as needed.
