Job summary

Zurich North America is seeking an RCIS Crop Claims Field Adjuster I to work from a home-based office in Virginia. The role requires approximately 50% travel and a 40-hour work week.

Responsibilities include field inspections, discussing findings with farmers, and processing complex crop loss claims while ensuring regulatory compliance. A CAPP certification within 180 days is required, plus a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6+ months of experience in the agricultural area.
• CAPP Certification must be obtained with 180 days of hire date.
• Reliable personal transportation and travel within territory.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• RCIS Crop Adjuster experience or agricultural background is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete field inspections and related responsibilities such as reading maps, aerial photos, measuring fields and storage bins.
• Explain complex regulations to claimants, agents, and industry people.
• Perform fact finding and transmit loss information to determine indemnities.
• Gather relevant facts, applying applicable law and negligence principles.
• Complete claim reviews and audits on lower-level adjusters as assigned.
• Maintain regulatory and policy knowledge and ensure legal compliance.
• Contribute to team effort and participate in projects as needed.
