Job summary

Zurich North America is seeking RCIS Crop Claims Field Adjuster I/II/Specialist to work from a home-based office in Iowa. The role requires up to 50% travel and service within a 50-mile area of specified IA counties, handling complex crop loss claims with field inspections and regulatory interpretation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6+ months of experience in the agricultural area.
• Crop Adjuster Proficiency Program Certification (CAPP) must be obtained with 180 days of hire date.
• Reliable personal transportation and travel within territory.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• RCIS Crop Adjuster Physical Requirements: walk in agricultural fields up to 3 miles, climb up to 25 feet, lift 25 lbs. to 50 lbs., work outdoors.

Responsibilities

• With minimal supervision, completes field inspections and related responsibilities such as reading maps and aerial photos.
• Discuss findings of crop loss with farmers on complex claims.
• Convey complex regulations and interpretations to claimants, agents, and industry people.
• Performs fact finding regarding crop damage and transmits loss information.
• Gather relevant facts, utilizing applicable law and basic negligence principles.
• Complete claim reviews and audits on lower-level adjusters as assigned.
• Maintain knowledge of regulatory and company policies and procedures.
• Contribute to team effort and participate on projects as needed.
