Job summary

Banner Health is seeking an experienced Physician Coder with radiology focus to join our remote Coding Ambulatory team. The role requires CPC in active status with radiology coding experience, covering CT, Ultrasound and other modalities. We will consider CPC-A if radiology experience is present.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent with formal training in medical record keeping principles.
• Associate’s degree in a related health care field is acceptable.
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or related AHIMA/AAPC credentials in active status.
• Minimum six months of professional coding experience in a healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of ICD and CPT coding principles per AHIMA guidelines.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote setting with coding software.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate medical records and assign ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes for radiology.
• Clarify missing information with medical providers to ensure accurate code assignment.
• Comply with CMS, OIG, HCFA, and other regulatory coding guidelines.
• Compile daily/monthly reports and support data abstraction for analysis.
• Work independently in a remote environment with access to coding resources.
