Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC is seeking a Quantum Computing/Cryptography Engineer for a 100% remote U.S.–based role supporting federal government clients. The candidate will implement and test cryptographic algorithms, migrate to PQC, and advise on risk communication to leadership. U.S.

Citizenship and a Public Trust clearance are required, with travel as needed. Applicants should have 10+ years IT experience with quantum cryptography, deep knowledge of PQC standards, and proficiency in Python,

Qualifications

• 10+ years IT experience with quantum computing and cryptography.
• Master’s degree may substitute for up to 2 years of the required experience.
• U.S. Citizenship required for this position.
• Active or eligibility for a Public Trust clearance.
• Experience with cryptographic standards (NIST, ISO/IEC 19790).

Responsibilities

• Utilize programming languages such as Python, C++, and Java for implementing and testing cryptographic algorithms.
• Advise on quantum resistant algorithm migration plans and PQC implementation strategies.
• Assess organizational cryptographic inventory and identify migration priorities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to communicate quantum risk to non-technical leadership.
• Provide policy and guidance inputs for cryptographic modernization aligned with NIST PQC standards.
