Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC is seeking a Quantum Computing/Cryptography Engineer for a remote, US-based opportunity with a Public Trust level clearance. The role emphasizes implementing cryptographic algorithms, PQC strategies, and communicating quantum risk to leadership.

You will work with Python, C++, and Java to support migration plans, PQC standards, and cryptographic modernization for a federal client. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years IT experience with quantum computing and cryptography at a large org or government agency.
• Expertise in quantum mechanics, algorithms, and information theory.
• Experience with post-quantum cryptography and standards (NIST PQC).
• Familiarity with cryptographic modernization and risk communication to leadership.

Responsibilities

• Implement and test cryptographic algorithms using Python, C++, and Java.
• Advise on migration plans for quantum-resistant algorithms and PQC implementation.
• Assess cryptographic inventory and identify migration priorities.
• Collaborate across teams to communicate quantum risk to leadership.
• Provide policy inputs for modernization aligned with NIST PQC standards (FIPS 203, 204, 205).
