Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Quantum Computing/Cryptography Engineer for a remote, full-time role focused on quantum-resistant cryptography and PQC standards for a federal client.

The candidate will leverage Python, C++, and Java to implement cryptographic algorithms, advise on migration plans, and align with NIST PQC standards. U.S. citizenship and security clearance readiness are required, with occasional travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 10+ years IT experience including quantum computing and cryptography.
• Experience with quantum algorithms (Shor, Grover) and information theory.
• Familiarity with NIST PQC standards (FIPS 203, 204, 205) and cryptographic modernization.
• Experience communicating quantum risk to non-technical leadership.
• W-2 U.S. based position with security clearance readiness.

Responsibilities

• Implement and test cryptographic algorithms using Python, C++, and Java.
• Advise on quantum-resistant algorithm migration plans and PQC implementation strategies.
• Assess cryptographic inventory and identify migration priorities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to communicate quantum risk to leadership.
• Provide input on policy and guidance for cryptographic modernization.
