Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Quantum Computing/Cryptography Engineer to lead advanced cryptographic modernization and PQC strategies for a federal client.

The role demands 10+ years of IT experience with quantum cryptography, strong programming in Python/C++/Java, and familiarity with NIST PQC standards. Remote work is offered; U.S. Citizenship is required for security clearance eligibility. Canditates must be able to communicate quantum risk to leadership and collaborate across teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years IT experience with quantum computing and cryptography in large orgs or government-like environment.
• Expertise in quantum algorithms and information theory.
• Experience with PQC and NIST standards.

Responsibilities

• Implement and test cryptographic algorithms using Python, C++, and Java.
• Advise on migration plans to quantum-resistant cryptography.
• Assess cryptographic inventory and migration priorities across the organization.
• Communicate quantum risk to non-technical leadership and stakeholders.
• Provide policy inputs aligned with NIST PQC standards (FIPS 203-205).
