Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) seeks a Quantum Computing/Cryptography Engineer for a 100% remote role supporting a federal government client. The position requires U.S. citizenship and a Public Trust – Level 4 clearance.

You will implement cryptographic algorithms with Python, C++, and Java; guide PQC migration; assess inventory and migration priorities; and communicate quantum risk to leadership per NIST PQC standards.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of IT experience with quantum computing and cryptography.
• Expertise in quantum mechanics, algorithms (Shor, Grover) and information theory.
• Experience with quantum programming languages and frameworks: Qiskit, Cirq, Quipper, MS QDK.
• Expertise in post-quantum cryptography and PQC standards (NIST).
• Familiarity with classical/quantum simulation tools and CM in large orgs.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities

• Utilize Python, C++, and Java to implement and test cryptographic algorithms.
• Advise on quantum resistant algorithm migration plans and PQC implementation strategies.
• Assess organizational cryptographic inventory and identify migration priorities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to communicate quantum risk to leadership.
• Provide policy inputs for cryptographic modernization aligned with NIST PQC standards.
