Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) seeks a talented Quantum Computing/Cryptography Engineer for a 100% U.S.-based remote role. You will apply Python, C++, and Java to implement and test cryptographic algorithms and collaborate on PQC strategies in a federal government context.

Candidates should have 10+ years IT/quantum cryptography experience, a US Citizenship, and be able to obtain Public Trust level clearance; a Bachelor's in a related field is required, with strong knowledge of NIST PQC standards

Qualifications

10+ years IT experience with quantum computing/cryptography in a large org or government agency
Expertise in quantum mechanics, algorithms, and information theory
Experience with post-quantum cryptography (PQC)
Familiarity with NIST PQC standards (FIPS 203-205)
Ability to communicate quantum risk to non-technical leadership

Responsibilities

Utilize Python, C++, and Java to implement and test cryptographic algorithms
Advise on quantum resistant algorithm migration plans and PQC implementation strategies
Assess cryptographic inventory and identify migration priorities
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to communicate quantum risk to leadership
Provide policy inputs for cryptographic modernization aligned with NIST PQC standards
