Job summary

SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking a Software QA and Support Engineer to test our custom software used in utility-scale construction management, data monitoring, analytics and reporting. This role supports mostly internal customers and collaborates with developers and product teams.

The position offers fully remote work or a hybrid option with regular office presence in San Diego, CA or Bend, Oregon; interviews will discuss location expectations and flexibility.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Experience writing automated tests for TypeScript or Python code bases.
• 5+ years of software QA testing.
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Achieve an expert level understanding of our custom software system features, the design intent, integrations with other platforms, and how the applications are used.
• Prioritize and manage testing work independently using Jira, team tools, and release timelines.
• Build understanding of intended feature behavior through self-directed exploration and coordination with developers and product team members.
• Coordinate functional, regression, negative, and ad-hoc testing with QA team members.
• Write comprehensive test cases to cover functional test scenarios.
• Identify opportunities to improve testing through automation, AI, and other innovations.
• Establish test environment familiarity including basic Git/GitHub usage.
• Provide input to improve processes and the product based on training and internal communications.
• Serve as first point of contact and second-tier support for our software; troubleshoot or escalate with reproducible bug reports in Jira.
• Monitor support channels and maintain ticket records from intake to resolution.
• Identify recurring issues, document fixes, and suggest root-cause improvements.
• Complete other responsibilities as assigned.
