Job summary

SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking a Software QA and Support Engineer to join our Software Engineering Team to ensure high-quality software for internal users and external teams. The role is fully remote or hybrid with occasional office presence in San Diego, CA or Bend, Oregon.

The candidate will coordinate with developers and product teams and contribute to continuous improvement. Responsibilities include testing complex software, building test cases, and supporting customers through ticketing

Qualifications

B.S. in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
5+ years of software QA testing experience.
Experience writing automated tests for TypeScript or Python code bases.
Proficiency with Jira and Confluence for test management.

Responsibilities

Achieve expert understanding of our software features, integrations, and usage.
Prioritize and manage testing independently using Jira and release timelines.
Build understanding of feature behavior through exploration with developers.
Coordinate functional, regression, negative, and ad-hoc testing with QA teammates.
Write comprehensive test cases covering functional scenarios.
Identify opportunities to improve testing via automation and AI.
Set up test environments and run code locally with Git/GitHub basics.
Share training insights to support continuous process improvement.
Serve as first contact and 2nd-tier support for the custom software with clear bug reports.
Monitor support channels and maintain ticket records from intake to resolution.
Identify recurring issues and document fixes to reduce repeat tickets.
Perform other duties as assigned.
