Cardiff, Inc. is seeking a Python backend engineer to own the data integration layer for financial data. You will build and maintain FastAPI services, provider integrations, and AWS pipelines to support risk decisions and ML workflows. This is a remote contract role with a path to full-time employment in the US.

You will work with an AI platform from day one, collaborating with architects and full‑stack engineers to deliver fast, compliant data delivery and scalable pipelines.

Qualificações

• 5+ years of Python backend engineering for data-intensive systems.
• Production backend services with FastAPI including API design and async coding.
• Reliable third-party API integration with retries, rate limits, and observability.
• Extensive Snowflake experience in production environments.
• Experience with AWS data services for pipelines and data lakes.
• Strong data modeling, schema alignment, and transformation instincts.
• Knowledge of API authentication and compliance for regulated data.
• Proficiency in SQL and Pandas.

Responsabilidades

• Design, build, and run FastAPI services exposing financial data to internal consumers.
• Own integration layer with external providers: retries, backoff, and credential handling.
• Build pipelines landing provider data in Snowflake and AWS Glue/Athena/S3.
• Do data modeling and schema mapping with domain experts and analysts.
• Ensure security, privacy, and regulatory compliance across systems.
• Apply LLM APIs for extraction/classification with validation before pipelines.
• Maintain unit/integration tests and documentation for components.
