Job summary

Self Financial is seeking a Python engineer for the Business Systems team. You will design, build, and operate RESTful Python services that connect our CRM with downstream systems, ensuring low latency in a high-traffic, latency-sensitive environment.

You’ll improve data integration, caching strategies, and production observability in a fast-moving fintech setting. You’ll collaborate across engineering, DevOps/SRE, and product teams.

Qualifications

• Strong professional experience with Python, including async programming and building/maintaining REST APIs.
• Experience with data integration across services, handling failures/retries, and data consistency.
• Knowledge of HTTP design, caching, and debugging performance in live services.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Python services (REST APIs) that integrate our CRM with payments and internal data.
• Diagnose and resolve production performance issues including I/O, connections, caching, and latency.
• Use asyncio to parallelize I/O-bound work without reducing throughput.
• Implement and tune caching layers (Redis) for high-throughput endpoints.
• Build and maintain CRM integrations (Salesforce) with data queries and REST syncing.
• Deploy and operate services in AWS/cloud environments (serverless, containers, monitoring).
• Use observability tools to trace requests, identify bottlenecks, and validate fixes with live data.
• Write clean, well-tested code with clear API/business/infrastructure separation.
• Participate in on-call rotation and coordinate fixes across teams.
