Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Performance Engineer II - O&M to oversee day-to-day operational activities on active projects. This role can be fully remote or hybrid with in-office presence in San Diego, CA or Bend, OR, with details discussed during interview.

You will collaborate with internal teams to collect data, run analyses, and update client reports. A strong background in PV performance, data analytics, and modeling tools is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, science, or related technical discipline.
• 4+ years' PV performance engineering or data analytics experience.
• Experience modeling with PVSyst, PlantPredict, SAM.
• Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
• Programming experience in Python, VBA, MATLAB, Java.
• Willingness to travel up to 20%.
• Strong understanding of renewable energy industry.
• Ability to collaborate across teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to mentor and oversee junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize safety as the top priority on all projects.
• Collaborate with internal teams to prepare reports and analyses.
• On-board active projects into internal Performance Team platforms.
• Track issues and optimize fleet performance with engineers.
• Analyze energy losses and system performance from outages.
• Lead and coordinate day-to-day operational activities.
• Ensure accuracy of site design, equipment, and issues.
• Run PV system energy models using PVsyst or similar tools.
• Prepare and update client reports and templates.
• Review turnover docs to identify root causes of failures.
• Grow into a subject matter expert in PV power plants.
• Assist with data analytics tool development.
