Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Performance Engineer II to oversee day-to-day operations on active solar and energy storage projects. The role may be fully remote or hybrid, with in-office presence in San Diego, CA or Bend, OR, and involves data analytics, reporting, and cross-team coordination.

You will analyze energy losses, optimize fleet performance, and support PV system modeling using tools like PVsyst, PlantPredict, and SAM. Strong collaboration and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, science, or a related technical discipline.
• 4+ years PV performance engineering and PV data analytics experience.
• Experience modeling using PVSyst, PlantPredict, SAM, etc.
• Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and other Office tools.
• Ability to travel up to 20% of time.

Responsibilities

• Safety is the top priority; ensure safe practices across field and office teams.
• Collaborate with internal teams to collect data for reports, acceptance tests, analyses and deliverables.
• On-board active projects into SOLV Energy’s Performance Team platforms.
• Track issues with the fleet and share findings to optimize performance.
• Troubleshoot performance data/equipment and relate to workorder data for reporting.
• Lead the Performance Engineers & Analysts in coordinating operations.
• Model PV energy, review drawings, and verify system layouts and installations.
• Prepare commissioning plans, test reports, operation reports, vitals, and forecasts.
