Job summary

The State of Washington, Department of Labor & Industries, is seeking a Management Analyst 5 to join the Public Records Unit within the Information Governance Program in Tumwater. You will support compliance with disclosure laws, ensure transparency, and protect confidential information while delivering timely records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, education, or a related field with five years’ related experience (planning, analysis, coordination, and consultation).
• Equivalent experience may be substituted year for year for education.
• One or more years’ supervisory experience.
• Two or more years’ experience in Lean methodology and process improvement and/or project management.
• Two or more years’ experience in working with the disclosure of public records under the Public Records Act or FOIA.
• Experience researching, evaluating, and drawing conclusions from data to support recommendations with facts and applying rules and policies.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and Adobe; experience with eDiscovery.

Responsibilities

• Update Public Records policies and WACs to align with laws and rules.
• Track multiple projects and meet deadlines for executives and staff.
• Assess public record requests for risk and expedite processing.
• Coordinate with Public Records Officer and Information Governance Manager on complex requests.
• Identify changes to case laws and update trainings and standard work.
• Develop monthly Public Records metrics and potentially create dashboards for leadership.
• Translate complex requests into actionable specifications with staff and PRO.
• Ensure sensitive data is captured or screened to comply with audit standards.
• Direct and oversee the work of direct reports and provide coaching or corrective action.
