Job summary

AECOM is seeking a talented Proposal Specialist III to join the West Region BD and operations team, coordinating pursuits from RFQ/RFP through final submission. The role offers remote flexibility and can be based in many US locations where AECOM has offices.

Responsibilities include leading medium to large proposals, crafting outlines, and serving as lead writer for resumes and executive summaries, while ensuring bid compliance, schedule, and quality through color reviews and debriefs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of experience leading and supporting proposal activities.
• Understanding of proposal strategy development, compliance, and writing.
• Advanced proficiency in proposal writing, editing, and project management.
• Strong analytical skills for RFP/RFQ analysis and data-driven decisions.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Acrobat) and MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint.
• Experience with proposal management software and data visualization tools.
• Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects.
• Strong attention to detail and high-quality output.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of industry regulations and standards.
• Willingness to work extended hours during peak periods.

Responsibilities

• Leads medium to large proposals and supports from capture to interview.
• Creates annotated outlines and content plans; advises technical teams on structure.
• May serve as lead writer/editor for resumes, past performance, and executive summaries.
• Facilitates color reviews and quality reviews; applies lessons learned to proposals.
• Provides go/no-go/go decisions and compliance with authority guidelines.
• Completes internal debriefs and supports win/loss discussions for improvement.
• Supports marketing or pursuits strategy and content development as needed.
• Performs self-checks of work prior to review.
