Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Proposal Specialist III to support the West Region on pursuits, including EOIs, RFQs, RFPs, and pre-qualification efforts. This remote-friendly role can be based anywhere in the US where AECOM has an office.

You will lead medium to large proposals, develop win strategies, and coordinate across the business line growth team and operations. You will drive content planning, write and edit tailored sections, and support color and quality reviews to ensure bid success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience in proposal activities for key clients and pursuits.
• Understand proposal and presentation strategy development, compliance, and writing.
• Advanced proficiency in proposal writing, editing, and project management.
• Strong analytical skills for RFP/RFQ analysis and data-driven decisions.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Acrobat) and Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint.
• Experience with proposal management software and data visualization tools.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of industry regulations and standards.
• Willingness to work extended hours during peak periods.

Responsibilities

• Lead medium to large proposals and presentations from capture through interview stage.
• Support capture managers in win strategy development during capture through interview prep.
• Create annotated outlines and content plans; advise technical teams on section structures.
• May serve as lead writer and editor for resumes, past performance, summaries, and management approaches.
• Facilitate color reviews, quality reviews, and implement revisions from reviews.
• Participate in go/no-go and greenlight analyses in line with governance guidelines.
• Contribute to internal debriefs and support win/loss discussions for continuous improvement.
• Assist marketing or pursuits strategy and content development as needed.
• Perform self-checks before submission for review/approval.
