Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering (Fire Protection, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, etc.).
  • 3+ years of relevant experience, 8+ years for Senior level with demonstrated engagement leadership.
  • P.E. license preferred; candidates with a P.E. take the title Property Loss Control Engineer (or Senior Property Loss Control Engineer at the senior level).

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to client personnel from site staff to risk management leadership.
  • Evaluate insurer property loss control reports and Loss Expectancies (LEs).
  • Develop alternative risk-reduction solutions with anticipated costs and negotiate acceptance.
  • Provide client representation during insurer surveys and discussions.
  • Review project submittals and address property risks from fire and natural hazards.
  • Establish and review design specifications for construction and fire protection systems.
  • Advise client project teams from pre-construction through commissioning.
  • Conduct site surveys, fire hazard analyses, and investigations; prepare summary reports.
