Harrington Group, Inc. is seeking a Property Loss Control Engineer or Consultant to join our remote, U.S.-based team.

You will evaluate insurer reports and Loss Expectancies, advise on risk-reduction strategies, and develop design specifications for fire protection systems for industrial facilities. You will conduct site surveys, fire hazard analyses, and water supply evaluations, while collaborating with senior PLC engineers and mentors to grow your expertise and take on greater

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering (Fire Protection, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Chemical, etc.).
• 3+ years of relevant experience in PLC engineering or related fields with industrial property insurance underwriters, unbundled property loss control services, or insurance brokerage serving HPR clients preferred.
• P.E. license or EIT status preferred; those with a P.E. license take the title Property Loss Control Engineer; others take Property Loss Control Consultant.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain trusted relationships with client personnel through consistent, reliable service.
• Manage client communications, priorities, and expectations for assigned engagements.
• Evaluate insurer property loss control reports, recommendations, and Loss Expectancies for clients.
• Advise on recommendation priority based on frequency, severity, and ROI.
• Present alternative risk-reduction solutions with anticipated costs informed by risk tolerance.

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering

3+ years of relevant experience

P.E. license or EIT status preferred
