Job summary

The Hanover Insurance Group is seeking a Senior Risk Engineering Consultant with deep property risk engineering expertise to serve high‑hazard industrial accounts. This is a fully remote role to support Illinois-based candidates willing to travel regionally.

The ideal candidate will conduct on-site risk assessments, deliver practical recommendations, and partner with insureds to minimize losses. Key requirements include a engineering degree, 8+ years in technical engineering, strong NFPA

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred.
8+ years in technical/engineering experience.
Must have property experience including high hazard property exposure.
Strong understanding of NFPA Codes and Standards or equivalent.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and basic knowledge of Excel.
Must be able to travel by car regularly (limited air travel).
Excellent communication skills for technical decisions.
Proficient in risk engineering core competencies.

Responsibilities

Perform property risk engineering site inspections for complexity across existing and prospective policyholders.
Generate technical property risk engineering reports identifying exposures and control recommendations.
Collaborate with Risk Analysts to address identified deficiencies.
Mentor junior Risk Engineering Field Consultants on report generation and audits.
Coordinate with internal/external resources on risks of varying complexity.
