Job summary

CloudFit is seeking a detail-oriented Project Finance Operations Specialist to manage billing for a portfolio of government and commercial contracts. You will coordinate with project teams, Operations, and Finance to ensure accurate invoicing, timely collections, and strong cash flow visibility.

You will engineer automated workflows, support vendor payments, and help scale processes across a diverse contract portfolio while maintaining rigorous documentation and SOPs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience supporting billing, AR, project accounting, finance operations, or contract administration.
• Strong understanding of invoice management, collections, and financial documentation.
• Experience with project budgets, POs, vendor invoices, commitments, and cost tracking.
• Ability to translate contract/project/budget/invoice data into actionable financial insights.
• Excellent organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Clear communication, sound judgment, and collaborative customer service approach.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and modern business systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage project billing activities across a portfolio of government and commercial contracts.
• Develop and maintain billing schedules aligned with contractual requirements and milestones.
• Prepare and submit accurate customer invoices while tracking billing status and collections.
• Monitor project cash positions and provide updates to support forecasting and decisions.
• Support project purchasing and vendor payments by validating invoices against budgets and POs.
• Partner with project managers to identify and resolve billing, payment, contract, and cash-flow issues.
• Maintain documentation, SOPs, and work instructions for project finance processes.
• Engineer and automate workflows to improve efficiency and data quality.
• Assist with contract intake, project setup, billing terms, modifications, and quote-to-cash activities.
• Support continuous improvement across Finance, Operations, and Project Delivery.
