Job summary

James Moore & Co. is seeking a Project Accountant to join our CFO Services Advisory team. You will own the accounting infrastructure supporting client advisory work, onboarding new clients, and designing monthly close processes.

The role requires close collaboration with client staff and the ability to adapt processes for diverse engagements. You will manage interim bookkeeping, full‑cycle closes, budgeting, and cash flow forecasting, with a focus on manufacturing clients.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of full‑cycle accounting experience, including primary ownership of month‑end close.
• Hands‑on experience in QuickBooks (Online and Desktop) and at least one true ERP system.
• Advanced Excel skills, including budget/forecast modelling.

Responsibilities

• Lead client onboarding for CFO Services engagements, including chart of accounts review and opening balance validation.
• Own full‑cycle close and manage recurring/adjusting journal entries, accruals, depreciation, and reconciliations.
• Run AP/AR processes and prepare month‑end reporting packages for CFO advisor review.
• Collaborate with client accounting staff and owners to implement process improvements.
• Provide interim bookkeeping support during turnover or gaps and tie ERP data back to the general ledger.
• Build budgets, rolling 13‑week cash flow forecasts, and variance analyses.
