Job summary

NELSON is seeking an experienced Project Accountant to support our project teams and Finance leadership. The Project Accountant will manage a high volume of invoicing with Senior Project Accountants, Project Managers, and Finance leaders to ensure projects are set up correctly and client invoices are accurate and sent timely.

You will leverage Deltek Vantagepoint, NELSON Business Insights (Tableau), and strong analytical skills to improve financial processes, monitor unbilled balances, assist

Responsibilities

• Issue high volume, high complexity invoices with Project Managers to ensure accuracy.
• Proactively manage unbilled time and expenses to address aging balances.
• Submit all invoices to clients and support accounts receivable tracking.
• Assist Project Managers with AR tracking and collections efforts.
• Train Project Managers in billing processes and procedures.
• Support onboarding of Project Managers.
• Manage Missing Rates tool.
• Assist with Project Review Meetings as needed.
• Support Finance Leader as needed and act as escalation point for billing challenges.
• Provide general accounting support and participate in project forecasting.
