Job summary

NELSON Worldwide, LLC is seeking an experienced Project Accountant to support project teams and Finance leadership. You will manage a high volume of invoices, collaborate with Project Managers on billing, forecasting, and unbilled balances, and help ensure accuracy and compliance with client contracts.

You will leverage Deltek Vantagepoint, NELSON Business Insights (Tableau), and MS Office to improve financial processes, maximize project profitability, and support positive business outcomes

Qualifications

• Requires ability to manage a high volume of invoices and billing processes.
• Experience with project accounting and billing in professional services.
• Proficiency with Deltek Vantagepoint and Tableau for reporting.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of contract administration and collections related to consulting partners.

Responsibilities

• Issue a high volume and high complexity of invoices with Project Managers to ensure accuracy.
• Proactively manage unbilled time and expenses to address aging balances.
• Submit all invoices to clients in a timely manner.
• Assist Project Managers with accounts receivable tracking and collections.
• Train Project Managers in billing processes and procedures.
• Support onboarding of Project Managers.
• Notarize documents.
• Assist with Project Review Meetings and other finance activities as needed.
• Support Finance Leader and act as escalation point for billing and project challenges.
• Provide general accounting support and project forecasting.
