Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a Coding Auditor and Educator for Professional Fee coding. You will audit ICD-10-CM, CPT-4, and HCPCS classifications, educate staff, and standardize coding practices across the organization. You’ll monitor regulatory changes and implement timely updates within PB coding teams.

You will train new staff, develop ongoing education programs, and collaborate with leadership on short- and long-term strategic planning to maintain compliant coding and billing practices.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/G.E.D.
• Two years of PB coder audits, education, and training
• Five years of coding professional fee records
• CPC/CCS/CCS-P or RHIT/RHIA certification or AHIMA equivalents
• Epic experience
• Knowledge of professional fee coding rules and Medicare guidelines
• Advanced knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS and modifiers
• Strong organizational, planning, scheduling and project management abilities
• Excellent analytical ability to develop and analyze data to solve complex problems

Responsibilities

• Maintain mastery of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS and regulatory guidelines to support complex billing inquiries
• Conduct systematic chart audits to identify documentation gaps and trends
• Lead onboarding for new hires and provide ongoing education on Risk Adjustment, HCCs, and MEAT criteria
• Develop and deploy training programs to keep coding teams updated on changing health plan requirements
• Foster relationships across coding teams to standardize practices and enhance cross-department communication
• Present educational findings and drive improvements in coding compliance
