Job summary

CommonSpirit Health seeks a Supervisor, Coding Professional Fee to oversee professional fee coders and support staff across inpatient and outpatient physician services. Qualifications

• A minimum of three (3) years of experience in health care and revenue cycle experience within a physician practice.
• Professional coding experience.
• Demonstrated competency of professional coding and coding guidelines.
• Experience with the electronic health record (EHR) and health care applications.
• CPC or CCSP

Responsibilities

• Directly supervises personnel, which includes work allocation, training, and problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.
• Promotes coding quality to comply with payer guidelines and regulations.
• Conducts quality control audits of staff to verify coding quality metrics are maintained and identify opportunities for further education.
• Manages processes within the system to verify coding completion timelines are maintained.
• Evaluates staffing needs and optimizes resource use through cross-training/cross-coverage to promote consistent processing of charges.
• Trains technical and other staff on coding practices, policies and procedures, system, and payer regulations.
