Optum in Eden Prairie, MN is seeking a full-time Medical Coder to assign CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes for diverse services, including Emergency Department and Hospitalists. You will uphold AHIMA/AAPC standards while achieving quality and productivity targets.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• AHIMA or AAPC coding certification maintained annually.
• 3+ years of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS experience.

Responsibilities

• Identify CPT, ICD-10 codes and modifiers for various E/M services.
• Apply coding guidelines and client facility guidelines.
• Analyze/correct CCI Edits and medical necessity edits.
• Abstract data during chart review when coding needed.
• Maintain coding quality and productivity standards.
• Provide documentation feedback to providers and query physicians.
• Stay current with coding knowledge through QM and Director guidance.
• Participate in department meetings and education events.
• Review and track coded/missing charts.
