Job summary

Optum is seeking a professional coder to join our remote team across the U.S. You will assign ICD-10 and CPT codes, ensure accurate documentation, and manage coding work queues in a fast-paced environment.

Required are AHIMA/AAPC credentials, a high school diploma, and at least 2 years of ICD-10/CPT coding experience; Epic EMR experience is preferred. We offer comprehensive benefits and telecommuting flexibility.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• AHIMA/AAPC coding credential required and renewed annually.
• 2+ years of Windows PC experience with MS Excel and EMR systems.
• 2+ years of ICD-10 and CPT coding experience.

Responsibilities

• Assign accurate diagnostic and procedure codes per clinical documentation and coding guidelines.
• Assign CPT and ICD-10 codes to all services.
• Monitor work queues to ensure timely charging/coding.
• Generate coding queries for clarification on physician documentation.
• Stay updated on coding conventions and updates.
• Manage workload and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
