Job summary

UnitedHealth Group's Optum unit seeks a senior professional coder for remote, full-time work. You will assign CPT/ICD-10/HCPCS codes for diverse E/M services, ensure coding accuracy, and support providers with documentation queries. Expect ongoing education and collaboration with QM and Coding Operations teams.

Requirements include AHIMA/AAPC certification and 3+ years in ProFee/E/M coding, with strong Excel and EMR system skills. Occasional overtime may be required to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Professional coder certification with credentialing from AHIMA and/or AAPC (CCS, RHIA, RHIT, CPC-H/COC, CIC, CCS-P, CPC).
• 3+ years of experience with ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS.
• Proficient in Windows, Excel and EMR systems; able to work across multiple clients.

Responsibilities

• Identify CPT/ICD-10/Modifiers assignments for E/M services across departments.
• Ensure compliance with official coding guidelines and client guidelines.
• Analyze CCI Edits and Medical Necessity Edits; provide chart data as needed.
• Maintain up-to-date coding knowledge and participate in department meetings.
