Job summary

Nava Public Benefit Corp. is hiring for an experienced accounting-focused role. Based remotely with optional stateside flexibility, you will lead accounting practices, steer software integrations, and translate complex financial needs into practical system solutions.

You will collaborate across legal, policy, and operations teams to ensure accurate, compliant processes and scalable product delivery. You will drive planning, training, and governance for cross-functional initiatives, balancing

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting.
• Strong understanding of financial measurement tools and accounting principles.
• Experience with budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance with state government regulations.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience running and/or shipping consumer web applications.
• Ability to generate very strong product plans and build buy-in across teams and partners.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert knowledge in accounting practices and lead software integrations.
• Guide stakeholders through complex public policy implementation and business processes.
• Communicate complex financial concepts clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
• Develop and review program documentation, training content, and manuals.
• Collaborate with legal, public policy, business, and operations teams for accurate accounting processes.
• Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes.
• Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations.
• Review content for accuracy and completeness.
• Lead integration of accounting software solutions to improve efficiency and data accuracy.
• Troubleshoot issues related to software implementation and integration.
• Coordinate with IT for audit logging, system integrations, and monitoring.
• Provide training and support on new software applications and tools.
• Define project direction, scope, and priority from high-level initiatives to features.
• Socialize and build buy-in for product initiatives with agencies and contractors.
• Prioritize roadmaps and inbound work with the project management team.
• Represent Nava's outcome-centric and user-centric approach in discovery meetings.
• Measure progress toward business goals and translate data into action.
