Job summary

Avantor is seeking a Process Safety Manager to lead the development and deployment of corporate process safety programs across North America, with full remote work options. The role emphasizes regulatory compliance, hazard analysis, and incident investigations, partnering with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to reduce risk.

The position requires a CSP/CCPSC along with 5–8 years of EHS/process-safety experience in high-hazard industries, and strong knowledge of OSHA PSM, EPA RMP,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline is required.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and CCPSC are preferred.
• Minimum 5–8 years in EHS/Process Safety in high-hazard industries.
• Experience with OSHA PSM and EPA RMP programs.
• Strong facilitation of PHA/HAZOP studies and MOC programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and deployment of Process Safety Management and Risk Management programs.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with OSHA PSM, EPA RMP, NFPA, and related standards.
• Plan, facilitate, and document PHAs, HAZOPs, FMEA, LOPA, and risk assessments.
• Lead MOC processes and oversee incident investigations and RCA.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and maintenance to strengthen safety programs.
• Provide process safety oversight for capital projects and new products.
• Conduct audits, track KPIs, and drive continuous improvement.
• Support emergency preparedness and training across sites.
