Job summary

Avantor is seeking a Process Safety Manager to lead comprehensive safety programs across North America. This remote leadership role focuses on preventing major process safety events, managing chemical hazards, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

You will partner with operations, engineering and maintenance to drive continuous improvement in process safety performance. The role requires 5–8 years of EHS/process safety experience, a chemical engineering background, and strong expertise in PSM,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or closely related technical discipline required.
• Certifications: CSP/CCPSC/PE preferred or equivalent training.
• 5–8 years of progressive EHS/process safety experience in high-hazard industries.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and deployment of Process Safety Management and Risk Management programs.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with OSHA PSM, EPA RMP and NFPA standards.
• Plan and facilitate PHAs, HAZOPs and risk assessments; manage MOC programs.
• Lead investigations of process safety incidents and drive corrective actions.
• Strengthen mechanical integrity and coordinate with engineering/maintenance teams.
• Provide safety guidance for capital projects and new product introductions.
• Conduct audits, assessments, and KPI tracking to improve safety performance.
• Deliver process safety training and build organizational competency.
