Job summary

DEKRA North America is seeking a Process Safety Engineer to provide technical services supporting safety improvements globally, with a focus on North America. You will evaluate facilities, design safer processes, and guide clients on applying safety standards.

Role involves travel up to 50%, remote work options, and collaboration with the Process Safety Consulting Manager. BS in Engineering and 5+ years of experience are required, with CSP/PE or similar preferred.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or Fire Protection) or safety related field.
• EIT or safety-related designation preferred (CSP, CFEI, CCPSC, PE, etc.).
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in process safety.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a safe and healthy work environment by following procedures.
• Provide process safety assessments for equipment, processes, or procedures at client sites or remotely.
• Perform process safety assessments to OSHA and PSM standards.
• Review and apply NFPA, Building & Fire Codes, OSHA, FM Global, etc.
• Communicate with clients and consulting team in a timely, effective manner.
• Prepare quotations for prospective clients and follow up on new opportunities.
• Develop technical reports and perform peer reviews of papers and presentations.
