Job summary
Rocket Software is seeking a Principal Sales Engineer to lead technical sales on migrating mainframe workloads to cloud environments. You will partner with Account Executives to grow revenue and drive complex software opportunities.
The role requires deep mainframe/IBMi knowledge, enterprise data migration experience, and strong communication skills to present solutions and deliver proofs of concepts. This is a remote US-based opportunity.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of relevant sales engineering experience.
- Proven track record in presales or consulting roles with mainframe/IBMi background.
- Experience with large-scale enterprise data migration projects.
- Strong understanding of data integration concepts for mainframe databases and cloud-native databases.
- Data replication technologies (ETL, CDC) expertise is advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Engage with prospective clients to understand data integration challenges migrating from mainframe to cloud.
- Present and demonstrate Rocket Software solutions with clear technical benefits and integration capabilities.
- Inspire customers with solutions that show real value using database and AI trends.
- Deliver compelling proof of concepts showcasing technology leadership in cloud and mainframe contexts.
- Convey technical details to both non-technical and technical audiences to build credibility.
